Stephane Tempier was runner-up at Aprutium Race, Internazionali d'Italia Series round-4 held in Pineto (Italy) on Sunday, May 5th. Team Bianchi Countervail's Frenchman sprinted for the victory with Gerhard Kerschbaumer, finishing within inches from the Italian. Luca Braidot (+1:33) rounded out the podium. Runner-up at Titano XCO seven days ago, Nadir Colledani closed eighth. Both Tempier and Colledani rode Methanol CV RS.
Tempier took good feedbacks from his performance, confirming he has quickly left behind San Marino's demanding round, where he stepped down the podium. "I'm happy with my performance. I led the race since the first laps with Kerschbaumer and Braidot, then I tried to attack in the final lap, but it wasn't easy on this kind of course. I emerged from the final bend in the first position, but I missed the success for a few centimeters" Tempier commented.
Tempier will wear the leader's jersey also in the final round in La Thuile (Aosta), next June 22nd, where he'll try to manage a 11-point advantage on Kerschbaumer. Tempier leads the GC with 116 points indeed, whilst the Italian is runner-up with 105.
Chiara Teocchi rode Methanol CV RS to seventh in the Women's Open race topped by Martina Berta.
