Chiara Teocchi (Team Bianchi Countervail) finished seventh in UCI MTB World Cup round 6 Women’s Under 23 XCO event in Mont-Sainte-Anne (Canada) on Sunday, August 12th. The Italian biker completed the race in 1:22:47, six minutes and 31 seconds behind the winner, Swiss Sina Frei. Thanks to the result taken in North America, Teocchi kept the seventh position in the GC with 148 points, not far from to the Top 5. The 21-year-old rider from Bergamo will try to improve her overall result in World Cup final round in La Bresse (France) on August 24th-26th.
In the Men’s Elite XCO race Marco Aurelio Fontana delivered a good start before finishing 24th with a 5:56 gap from Mathias Flueckiger. Slowed by a puncture in the lap 2, Stephane Tempier had to settle for the 27th position, just ahead of Nadir Colledani.
Fontana and Colledani had done better into the XCC race held on Friday, August 10th, placing seventh and ninth respectively in spite of logistical problems due to bikes’ late arrival that affected their preparation for the race. Tempier is actually 14th in the GC with 569 points, Fontana 16th at 526, Colledani 30th at 336.
Bianchi supplies the team with two high end carbon models with racing geometry: the revolutionary Methanol CV and the Methanol 29.1 Full Suspension.
