Team Bianchi Countervail's Stephane Tempier and Marco Aurelio Fontana finished sixth and eighth respectively at XCO European Championships in Glasgow (UK) on Tuesday, August 7th. After fighting for the bronze medal until the penultimate race, Tempier slipped out of the Top 5 completing his effort in 1:33:55, 54 seconds slower than the winner Lars Forster. Fontana was eighth with a 1:22 gap. Nadir Colledani got to the finish line in 33rd position, with a 5:41 gap from the new European champion.
"We could do better at the European Championships, where we scored good results, but not the ones we aimed for. I expect a quick reaction of my riders in Canada's World Cup round, where I hope the whole team to show its real value", Team Bianchi Countervail's Manager Massimo Ghirotto comments.
The team will come back in action in Wolrd Cup XCC race in Mont-Sainte-Anne on Friday, August 10th. Two days later Nadir Colledani, Marco Aurelio Fontana, Stephane Tempier and Chiara Teocchi will enter the XCO races of the respective series.
Bianchi supplies the team with two high end carbon models with racing geometry: the revolutionary Methanol CV and the Methanol 29.1 Full Suspension.
