Stephane Tempier (Team Bianchi Countervail) finished sixth with Methanol 29.1 FS in XCO French Championships Men's Elite race in Lons le Saunier (France) on Sunday, July 22nd. After losing about one minute and 30 seconds due to a puncture in the opening lap, the 32-year-old Frenchman acted a steady recovery thanks to a fast pace, finishing in 1:30:23, 2:06 behind winner Titouan Carod.
Despite the large number of rivals overtaken, Tempier also managed to be the fastest rider in the lap-4, even if it was only a cold comfort. "After the puncture I rode constantly with a 1:30 gap from the leading group, I made a good recovery but it wasn't enough to step up the podium. I'm disappointed, I think that's natural: I had good feelings and great ambitions. I'll try to do much better at the XCO European Champs" Tempier commented.
Twenty-four hours earlier, Chiara Teocchi had taken bronze among Women Elites at XCO Italian Championships, with Nadir Colledani and Marco Aurelio Fontana fifth and sixth respectively in Men's Elite race.
Bianchi supplies the team with two high end carbon models with racing geometry: the revolutionary Methanol CV and the Methanol 29.1 Full Suspension.
